The Benefits of Meditation
Meditation is a wonderful gift.
For a modern society that is always on the move, stillness is a fine art to be appreciated.
However, a lot of people seem to think that meditation will somehow set them back...
...as though meditation is just you sitting down and not doing anything.
As though meditation is just you with your thoughts avoiding the day's responsibilities.
If you're thinking meditation is like this...I have to warn you.
This couldn't be further from the truth.
All existing research, both evidence and anecdotal, reveal that meditation is a widely beneficial practice that has carry over benefits to just about every part of life.
It helps you focus when there's a world of distraction around you.
It helps you remain calm in times of insecurity.
It reveals the inefficiencies and paradoxes that you might be living by or practicing.
It's not you sitting down and musing on your thoughts...
...it's a mental exercise that can help you reach new insights that you never knew before.
These benefits are understated in Reiki, where your focus and ability to channel energy is of the utmost importance.
Most Reiki healers know how to channel energy well...but they could be doing so much better if they meditated as well.
If you're a Reiki healer (or someone who wants to be), you must include meditation as part of your practice.
It's one of the few ways you can get better outside of continually practicing your Reiki technique.
In this blog post, I'm going to show you some other benefits of meditation that you might not know about.
I'll also include some techniques that you can practice on your own time to test it for yourself.

First we'll learn how meditation affects your energy.
Meditation & Energy
Remember that your energetic system exists outside of your physical body.
Our physical bodies are a manifestation of this energy and there are certain points along the body (Chakras) that allow us to tap into this energetic body.
If our energetic system is weakened, compromised, or startled, our physical body can suffer as a result.
Another thing that could happen is that your energetic system can be lacking energy in the first place.
Because our physical bodies use so much during the day, we can often feel fatigued and tired.
This is where the word "drained" comes from - our body literally drains and syphons fresh energy out of our energetic system!
But what if there were a way to give yourself more energy? Or, perhaps put more accurately, allow you to be more efficient with that energy?
If you guessed that meditation will help in this regard, you're spot on.
Meditation is one of the best ways to start restoring your energy and improving your energetic cycle.
Think of meditation as another way of channeling energy...
...as you meditate, your thoughts cluster together until you can piece them apart through the breath.
As you inhale and exhale, you're teaching your body to be efficient with the energy that you are utilizing from this space.
This works because it requires you to put everything off the table and simply meditate for a few minutes.
This short time allows your subconscious to sift through the most important and least important things that you need to remember and do.
Because of this sorting, only the things that are high on the priority list will have energy devoted to them...
...and as a result, you'll be more time-efficient, less wasteful, and have more energy to spend on the things that you love.
Put in another way, think about exercising or working out.
As you place more weight or do more movements, your body becomes stronger and more adaptable to those specific challenges.
The same process takes place in meditation - as you continue to meditate, your energetic system and channeling with become stronger and more adaptable to the world.
This reason alone is enough to justify a meditation practice.

Below is a personal meditation of mine that I do on a daily basis. This helps me assess and configure my personal statements for the day and took me less than 10 minutes to write.

Next, we'll learn the Auric Meditation so that you can channel more physical energy into your system.
Here's how to do it:
Start by finding a comfortable spot in your chair, floor, or couch.
Straighten your back, close your mouth and your eyes.
Breath in through your nose gently...and exhale gently through your nose.
You should not hear yourself breathing.
As you exhale, hold the breath for anywhere between 5 to 25 seconds.
After holding your breath, resume breathing.
Your breath should resume as normal - if you are breathing too hard, heavy, or through the mouth, lower the time spent holding the breath.
Keep your mind focused on the breath through your nose...and out through your nose.
Imagine the air circulating inside of you and permeating every Chakra in your body.
And as it leaves, imagine how the air comes out smoothly, naturally, and with little resistance.
Meditation & Healing
If you're thinking that helping your energy reserves was the last of it...you need to read this next part.
You see, meditation is not just an energy channeling practice...it's a healing practice of its own.
However, in this case, your teacher will be the act of meditation itself. After all, that's how you learn and heal others.
Because of its energy restoring properties...
...meditation is without a doubt, a great energetic healing method.
It can restore brain cell volume, grey matter, and help with frustration, depression, fear, stress, and anxiety.
And the benefits aren't limited to just this...
You can also heal other people through meditation as well!
This is known as a Distant Healing.
Now, I know what you might be thinking: isn't Distant Healing a different thing?
Well, yes...and no. There are many ways to Distant Heal, just like how many ways there are to read a book, paint, or even travel the world.
Meditation is simply one method you can use to send healing energy over to a friend, loved one, or client.
This makes sense from many diffiferent perspectives - one, because you're connecting with your energy, you're indirectly connecting with the cosmos.
Two, because of this universal connection, you are able to send others notes and whathaveyous across the realm to where they are.
It's one of the most powerful benefits of meditation...
...and one that I highly encourage you try out.

It's a fairly easy technique that 99% of the people who I've taught have never failed them.
They all managed to send some healing energy across some distance to a friend or loved one...

Here's how to perform the Distant Healing Technique (Beginner):
Start by finding a comfortable spot in your chair or couch.
Place your hands on your lap with palms side up.
As you breath, slowly count in your head (1 on the exhale, 4 on the inhale). Count slowly.
Bring your hands up to your face and cup them as if you were about to drink from your hands.
Gently bring your palms to your face, and without opening your eyes, breath gently through your nose onto your palms.
Imagine that each breath dusts your palms with spiritual energy...and allow them to be fully covered.
Take anywhere between 5 to 15 minutes to do this.
Once you are done, imagine someone who you want to send this healing energy to.
This can be someone you love, a significant other...whoever it is, imagine their face right in front of you.
Slowly push your palms out toward them and say to yourself, "I send this healing energy to you."
Feel the energy release from your hands...and get carried over the distance to them.
Exhale gently, and relax.
Repeat this as often as you need to.
It's common to feel a bit winded after this meditation because you are taking Universal Energy and sending it across the distance.
As always, remember never to send your own personal energy, as this can lead to harmful effects on your side.
