To Become A Great Healer...Say No

Say No Header

As healers, it's our mission to help others.

But how can you help others if you don't help yourself?

This is the thing that frustrates many of my students and clients.

Sometimes, it can feel like you're a 'yes' person.

It can feel as though everyone puts their problems onto you...

...but no one is there to fix your problems or listen to you.

Can you think of a situation where you have someone's back...but the moment that you ask for help, they seem to dissappear?

When you realize how often this happens, it can be extremely disheartening.

It can feel as though no one truly cares about you. Sometimes, you even feel all alone in the world.

The reasons for this vary, but in my experiences with others, I've come to several conclusions...

..and hopefully, these conclusions can help you out on your own personal journey.

In this blog post, I'm going to share why you need to learn how to say 'No' before you can say 'Yes.'

Many of us are guilty of doing the exact opposite...which bleeds our energy dry and creates the impetus for many of our health and emotional problems.

If you want a quick way to heal...then you definitely want to use my Full Body Healing Session.

Think Twice

Whenever someone asks you for a favor, advice, or even just a bit of your time, think twice before you respond.

So many healers act on autopilot and automatically say yes to every request that comes through the window.

However, although this is well-intentioned, it can lead to extreme duress and stress.

All of your personal energy and time is being taken away and managed by other people.

In other words, when you are too acquiescent to people's requests, your time suddenly becomes their time.

You become a vestige of your former self...and that's not why you started healing.

You started healing because you knew there was a problem that you needed to solve and conventional means aren't sufficient for these types of problems.

You didn't start healing so that you can be a slave to other people's requests!

Learn

Whenever you do this, you sacrifice the better work you could be doing for average work.

You start to compromise on certain tasks because you know you need to get other tasks done.

This doesn't actually mean that you're doing anything - it means that you're inventing problems to solve.

Remember that you want to do your utmost as a healer and not be scattered so thinly across many different avenues.

This will literally and figuratively pull you apart from the inside.

Whenever I talk to students, they always tell me that they feel tired or fatigued after a long day of healing.

I ask them what they do after they finish a healing session, and they tell me that they're booked from sunrise to sunset.

This gives you absolutely no time to tend for yourself! And that can never be a good thing.

It's in our heart to be kind and gentle to others...but that also means we need to be kind and gentle to ourselves.

Know your 'limitations' - that means, know when you need to take care of yourself...and schedule time for it.

It may seem and sound like common sense, but the reality is that many people have a difficult time with this.

They have a difficult time being kind and gentle to themselves.

Most of us just plain aren't - it's a sad fact, but it's true. Your time is probably being eaten away by other people's agendas.

Your energy is probably being drained from other people.

And you feel tired because you've spoken or reacted too quickly.

Attribute

So the next time that you receive a request, think very carefully about what it is that they are asking of you...and see whether that conflicts with your own personal time.

If it does, then you shouldn't accept it and make the appropriate recommendation to help the other person find a viable solution.

However, this can be tough to exercise in practice. What happens when a friend is in need? What if your long-time client needs an even longer session? Can you resist the pull to use your energy?

If you want to learn how to do this, I suggest you get my Full Body Healing Session. It's one of the best ways to heal and thousands of people have already used it. I don't want you to miss out.

A good rule of thumb that I personally use for this is my 100% or 0% rule.

100% or 0%

The 100% or 0% rule is my personal affirmation to myself that I hope can be of use to you.

It's simply based on how you feel...

...and remember that how you feel is one of the most important predictors of your performance, success, or satisfaction in any capacity.

So let's say that Bobby calls me at 6pm one day and requests for a healing session that very same day because it's urgent.

Having just closed the front doors of my practice, I hesitate for a moment on the call. I've scheduled time to exercise, bathe, and have some 'me' time, but Bobby's request sounds urgent.

If I have any hesitation, doubt, or stutters and pauses, then I know that I cannot give my 100% to the other person or whatever task is being asked of me.

So I will decline and make the appropriate recommendation.

Amazing

In this particular example, I would tell Bobby that I can be available in the morning or recommend him to a healer that I know who may be free at this time. If they need me, then they can come in tomorrow.

You might feel bad for turning someone down, but as long as you make the right recommendations or consul, then you have done your job.

Remember that you also cannot do your job well if you feel negative towards an experience.

Let's contrast this with another example. Mitchell is 59 years old and is suffering from lower back pain.

He decides to give me a call to see whether I am available for appointment on the same-day.

Being quite free, I think twice about what I'm going to say based on how I feel.

If I feel that I can give it my 100%, then I will accept the request.

However, if I feel any smidgen of doubt or concern, then I will softly decline the request and try to help them in other capacities.

This example can be extrapolated to virtually any scenario where someone wants to use your time.

Again, it can seem very cutthroat, but remember that you absolutely cannot do your best when you tired or drained.

Most of the time, we only accept these requests because we don't want to look bad.

Establish Boundaries

However, if you can pinpoint and be aware of how you feel and what you really want to say, then you can start enacting this rule with compassion.

As a result, your energy will stay protected and you can do much better work as a healer.

You'll have more free time...

More energy...

...and even invite more positive experiences because of how your energy is charged.

However, if you want something that will do even more good for your body...you need to check out my Full Body Healing Session.

Many have said that it has changed their life forever...and I'm humbled.
