The Ultimate Guide to Chakra Healing

Ultimate Guide to Chakra Healing

You’re here because you’re looking for a safe and effective way to heal...

Maybe you’re not the type of person who wants to spend your time sitting in a doctor’s office… waiting to be told you need to go spend money on some chemical that is supposed to make you better...

When you know there could be damaging side effects...

When you know it might not treat the root cause of your suffering.

Maybe you know in your heart there is a better way.

We all strive to maintain optimal health — and Chakra Healing is a holistic art that has helped many people get there. And by “many” I mean millions.

What is Chakra Healing?

What if you could relieve pain in your physical body with a simple breathing technique? Or if you could repeat one phrase over and over again that would reduce your depression and anxiety? Or if you knew exactly where to put your hands so that you could discover your true life’s purpose?

Your overall health is directly related to your seven energy centers, called Chakras. If they are open and allowing the optimal amount of energy into your body, then you’d see many of your physical, emotional, and spiritual troubles start to heal themselves.

Chakra Healing is an art that has been used by healers and holy men throughout history.

Lotus Flower

It’s the practice of repairing, rebalancing, and re-energizing your body’s energy centers... so that your body, mind, and spirit can heal.

This guide is here to show you how to make Chakra Healing a part of your life so that you can feel well, and look forward to the gifts that every day has to bring.

I’ve put this collection of techniques together for YOU...

35 Chakra Healing Techniques

There are many techniques that people use for Chakra Healing, but some are more effective than others.

In this guide I’ve compiled a list of 35 powerful Chakra Healing techniques — 5 for each of your 7 Chakras — so that your body can return to a place of health.

This list includes…

  • A color visualization to help your heart recover from the loss of a loved one
  • A breathing technique that will help you quickly and easily make decisions
  • A simple phrase to boost your motivation and self confidence

And many other techniques that may just surprise you!

How to Use This Guide

I’ve organized all the techniques into 5 categories:

  1. Breathing Exercises
  2. Mantra Meditations
  3. Affirmations
  4. Color Visualizations
  5. Reiki Hand Positions

Under each category you will find techniques to heal each of your 7 Chakras...

Start by deciding which Chakra you want to heal.  If in doubt, begin with your Root Chakra and go up from there.  Remember, the order of the Chakras are:

  1. Root
  2. Sacral
  3. Solar Plexus
  4. Heart
  5. Throat
  6. Third Eye
  7. Crown

Chakra Healing Diagram

Then for each of the 5 categories, use the Chakra Healing technique for the particular Chakra you want to work on.

Repeat these techniques a few times a week until your intuition tells you that you’re ready to move on to the next Chakra.  Your inner guide will let you know when it’s time.

If you’re ready to restore the health of your energy centers and revitalize your life, then let’s dive into the first category...

Breathing Exercises

Your breath is a very powerful source of energy that has the ability to heal your Chakras.

Most of us take around 20,000 breaths each day… leaving you with many opportunities for healing.

Learning to manipulate the breath in various ways allows you to channel energy where it is most needed.

Below I have listed a breathing technique that you can do to promote healing in each of your Chakras.

Temple

Root Chakra: Elongated Exhale

Your Root Chakra keeps you connected to the earth and provides you with a sense of grounding. In this breathing exercise, find a comfortable seat with your feet planted on the floor.

Take a normal breath in, then slowly exhale. Your breath can be any length, as long as the exhale is longer than the inhale. A good place to start is inhaling on a count of 3 and exhaling to a count of 5.

With each exhale, imagine your feet rooting down into the earth. The longer exhale allows you to release and let go of any fears or worries that you’re holding on to. As the breath solidifies your connect with the earth, your Root Chakra Healing process will begin.

Sacral Chakra: Sitali (Cooling Breath)

Part of the role of the Sacral Chakra is to control taste and pleasure, meaning there’s a strong connection between this energy center and the tongue.

For this breath practice, you’ll roll your tongue into a “U” shape, then stick the tip of your tongue out of your mouth. It’s almost as if you’re breathing through a straw.

As the air travels across the tongue, you’ll feel a sense of cooling. This cool air will travel down into your Sacral Chakra to help with healing related to passion, creativity, sexuality, or addiction.

Solar Plexus Chakra: Diaphragmatic Breathing

Your Solar Plexus Chakra is responsible for your sense of power, your will, and the autonomy that you enjoy in life.

Most people unconsciously breathe into their chest… but learning to breathe into the belly through diaphragmatic breathing has many benefits, including restored health of the Solar Plexus Chakra.

Sitting in a chair, place your hands around your ribcage. Inhale through your nose and send the air into your belly instead of your chest. You should feel the stomach stretch outward as the ribcage expands. On your exhale, pull the stomach muscles in and send them upwards to release the breath out of your nose.

Focusing the breath on into the area around the Solar Plexus brings additional energy to this Chakra. As your Solar Plexus receives this concentration of energy, its natural healing abilities are stimulated so that you can feel your sense of power and motivation.

Heart Chakra: Breath Retention

Your Heart Chakra governs your sense of love and compassion for all things on earth. It also helps you feel a sense of abundance.

As you breathe normally, you’ll notice that your inhales and exhales flow smoothly into one another. But the goal of this practice is to find the space between the two by taking a moment to pause after your inhale fills the body with breath.

By holding your inhales in your chest, you gently stretch the muscles creating more space for the heart. This represents the abundant nature of this energy center, and also creates more room for you to invite love into your life through your healed Heart Chakra.

Throat Chakra: Ujjayi (Ocean Breath)

Your Throat Chakra is linked to your self-expression and communication, and is located in your neck.

In Ujjayi Pranayam, the ocean-like sound comes from a slight constriction at the back of your throat. To find this sensation, breathe out your mouth like you’re trying to fog up a mirror. Once you’ve got the sound down, continue breathing this way with the mouth closed.

If you’ve master the sound on the exhale, try making the same sound on the inhale. This slight constriction allows air to pass along the back of the throat, gently stimulating the Chakra located here so that you can clearly express yourself.

Third Eye Chakra: Follow the Breath

Your Third Eye Chakra is associated with your intuition, imagination, and all of your mental and psychic abilities.

This technique is fairly simple. With the eyes closed, you’ll watch the breath travel in through your nose and rise up to your forehead, where your Third Eye Chakra is located.

With each exhale, watch the breath move from the forehead down and out the nose. As you send breath straight into the Chakra, you’re filling your Third Eye with positive energy to promote healing in your center of intuition.

Crown Chakra: Nadi Shodhana (Alternate Nostril Breathing)

Once healing has occurred in all the other Chakras, you can move to your Crown to heal your spiritual center that connects you to the universe.

For Nadi Shodhana, you will be alternating your breath between the right and left nostril. Start by exhaling all the air out of your lungs.

Place the ring finger of your right hand against your left nostril to close it off. Breath in through the right nostril. Press your thumb against the right nostril to close it off and release the left side. Breath out through the left nostril, then breath in the left nostril. Again, switch your fingers to open right nostril and close the left. Exhale through the right nostril. Then repeat.

This breathing practice is extremely effective at balancing the two sides of the body, promoting harmony throughout your system. It also synchronizes the right and left brain, allowing energy to accelerate your Crown Chakra Healing so that you can connect to universal energy.

And universal energy is so important to your health. This Lifeforce Energy that your body absorbs is the underlying cause for your level of happiness and satisfaction in life.

Each and every one of your seven Chakras needs to be open and clear for this powerful energy to flow throughout your system. And the quickest way to do that is through the Guided Healing Sessions that I created for busy people just like you.

With this next healing practice, you get the added benefit of both hearing and feeling sound waves wash throughout your body…

Mantra Meditations

Every sound in the universe has its own unique energetic vibration. And since you are made of energy, those vibrations have the ability to transform you.

Sound is a very powerful healing method, especially when you are making the sound with your own body. Simply hearing the vibrations of a sound being made can have an effect on your energy levels, but when the sound comes from within your own body the effects are much stronger.

The Sanskrit word “Mantra” has two parts: “man” meaning mind, and “tra” meaning liberation. So these simple sounds you’re about to learn have the power to liberate your mind, allowing energy to flow freely throughout the body.

Healing Light

These mantras are particularly effective on the human body because our cells are mostly made of water. And, as science has shown, water is excellent at absorbing and transmitting sound waves.

Just as each sound has its own unique energy signature, each Chakra also functions at specific vibrational rhythm. By hearing or making different sounds, you can target specific Chakras in the body to promote their healing.

Each Chakra has a different one-syllable mantra that can be used for healing. The vibration of each mantra matches the optimal frequency of your Chakra.

Here is the mantra that corresponds to each Chakra:

  1. Root Chakra: LAM (pronounced lum as in alum)
  2. Sacral Chakra: VAM (vum as in thumb)
  3. Solar Plexus Chakra: RAM (rum)
  4. Heart Chakra: YAM (yum as in yummy)
  5. Throat Chakra: HAM (hum as in humming)
  6. Third Eye Chakra: OM (aum)
  7. Crown Chakra: Silence

The mantra or sound for your Crown Chakra is actually silence. By finding silence both through your voice and in your mind, you are able to become one with the universe and receive the healing it has to offer you.

To use these mantras, find a comfortable cross-legged seat or lie down on your back. Close your eyes and either speak the word out loud or say it silently in your head. Both methods can be effective at restoring healthy Chakras.

You can use these mantras in any combination. If you need to heal a specific Chakra, then repeat the corresponding sound. For a complete cleanse of the entire body, start at the Root Chakra and chant each matra in order.

Some people like the simplicity of a single mantra for their healing practice. But others prefer something a little more personalized…

Affirmations

Affirmations are a powerful way to increase your confidence, calm your worries, and help you be successful.

If you’re not familiar with affirmations, they are a simple tool used to create a positive mental outlook that comes from self-empowerment and positive thoughts.

By repeating phrases filled with positivity, you can train your brain to change negative thought patterns that have been holding you back.

It’s like doing sit ups or pushups or any other exercise. You’re performing the same action over and over again to strengthen a muscle. With affirmations, that muscle is your brain!

Koi Pond

Each of your seven Chakras has a unique affirmation that you can use to cultivate healing energy.

Root Chakra: I am Safe

Any variation on safety, having your needs met, or feeling grounded can also work for your Root Chakra Healing. Try things like:

  • It is safe for me to be here
  • The earth supports me and my needs
  • I trust the wisdom of my physical body

Sacral Chakra: I am Creative

Any variation on creativity, feelings, sexuality, and pleasure will effectively send healing energy to your Sacral Chakra. Try things like:

  • I embrace and celebrate my sexuality
  • I deserve to feel pleasure in life
  • My feelings are an important source of information

Solar Plexus Chakra: I am Strong

Any variation that involves your sense of power, achievement, and ability to act is beneficial to the health of your Solar Plexus Chakra. Try things like:

  • I accomplish my tasks easily and effortlessly
  • I have the power to do whatever I have the will to do
  • The bright fire within me burns through all my fears and blocks

Flower Budding

Heart Chakra: I am Loved

Any variation concerning abundance, love, compassion, and balance will work to heal your Heart Chakra. Try things like:

  • There is a never-ending supply of love
  • I can live in harmony with others
  • I am worthy of love

Throat Chakra: I am Expressive

Any variation focused on truth, communication, and expression can draw healing energy into your Throat Chakra. Try things like:

  • I hear and speak the truth
  • It is important that my voice be heard
  • My thoughts flow clearly and freely into the world

Third Eye Chakra: I am Connected

Any variation on topics like intuition, trust, vision, and wisdom will stimulate the healing powers of your Third Eye Chakra. Try things like:

  • I trust the wisdom from within
  • I can manifest my vision
  • I have an open mind

Crown Chakra: I am Divine

Any variation related to the spiritual realm connects your Crown Chakra with healing energy. Try things like:

  • The universe is my teacher
  • I am guided by higher power
  • The information I need comes to me

Speaking these positive affirmations out loud or in your head will promote the healing of each of your seven energy centers. And with enough repetition, you’ll once again be able to enjoy balance, open, and healthy Chakras.

But sometimes, when you’re in a funk, it can be hard to come up with anything positive. If you seem to have negative thoughts stuck in your head, I invite you to try my Guided Healing Sessions

Affirmations are particularly useful for those who are verbal learners. If you’re more of a visual learner, like myself, then I have another technique just for you…

Color Visualizations

You may already know that each Chakra has a certain color associated with it. Colors, like sounds, each have their own unique vibrations that can affect your energetic body.

There are several color visualizations that you can practice to heal your Chakras, but first let’s review the color of each of your seven major energy centers…

  1. Root Chakra: Red
  2. Sacral Chakra: Orange
  3. Solar Plexus Chakra: Yellow
  4. Heart Chakra: Green
  5. Throat Chakra: Blue
  6. Third Eye Chakra: Indigo
  7. Crown Chakra: Violet

Here is a visualization practice that you can use to promote Chakra Healing in your body.

Healing Tea

Color the Breath

Giving a color to your breath will help you focus the mind and amplify the healing energy that you can send to each of your Chakras. Always start with red for the Root Chakra, then move your way up the spine following the colors of the rainbow.

As you sit with a long spine, close your eyes and allow your mind to start to follow the natural pattern of your breath. See the air come in through your nose, travel down the throat, and fill up the lungs. Watch it as it leaves the lungs, travels up the throat, and exits through the nose.

Once your mind is focused on your breathing, start to see the breath turn red. Follow the red breath in your body and draw it down into your tailbone where your Root Chakra sits. Once this feels complete, turn the breath orange as you draw it into your Sacral Chakra right between your hips.

Continue changing the color of the breath to match the Chakra that you are breathing into… yellow breath into the belly, green breath into the chest, blue breath into the throat, indigo breath into the forehead, and violet breath to the top of the head.

The combination of the color vibrations with the energy from your breath creates a powerful force that heals each Chakra in turn.

Color Visualization

BONUS: Color Expansion

Since you made it this far through my guide, here's a bonus color visualization technique for you ;)

For this visualization, you’ll imagine a colored vortex of light at each Chakra that expands to fill your entire body with the healing vibrations of each color.

Starting with your Root Chakra, close your eyes and see a spinning ball of red light at your tailbone. As it spins, watch the red energy grow larger and larger, eventually letting the entire body be filled with healing red light.

Repeat this with each color and Chakra pairing. Here are the locations of each Chakra where you should focus your colorful breath:

  1. Root Chakra: Tailbone
  2. Sacral Chakra: Hips
  3. Solar Plexus Chakra: Navel
  4. Heart Chakra: Heart
  5. Throat Chakra: Throat
  6. Third Eye Chakra: Forehead
  7. Crown Chakra: Top of Head

As the colored light in your body grows, its energy is radiating a sense of restoration and healing that penetrates into each of your Chakras to bring them back to health.

While visualization can be quite effective, I happen to favor this last healing method…

Reiki Hand Positions

Reiki is one of the most powerful methods of energy healing that you can learn. It can be used to treat a multitude of physical, emotional, and spiritual problems.

While there are many different hand positions and techniques that Reiki Masters use, there are a few that are directly related to Chakra Healing. By placing your hands over certain areas of the body, you’ll be able to direct healing energy straight in to your Chakras.

First, I’ll review where each Chakra is located, then give you a hand position that you can use to channel powerful energy that will heal your Chakras.

Healing Hands

Your Root Chakra is located at the very base of your spine. When you’re sitting down, it’s located at the place that is directly touching the chair or the earth beneath you.

Place your hands at your low back and form a “V” shape at the base of your spine, covering your Root Chakra.

Your Sacral Chakra is located right between your hip bones, about where the waistband of your pants sits.

Place your hands inside your hip bone and form a “V” shape, covering your Sacral Chakra.

Your Solar Plexus Chakra can be found in your belly, right around your navel.

Place both hands on your stomach horizontally so that they cover your Solar Plexus Chakra.

Your Heart Chakra is in the center of your chest, right behind your sternum (which is the hard bone that runs down the front of your ribs).

Place your hands over your chest so that they form a “T” shape covering your Heart Chakra.

Your Throat Chakra lives right at the base of your neck or throat. There’s a small indent between your two collar bones that can help you locate this Chakra.

Place your hands around the front of your neck with the wrists touching so that your Throat Chakra is covered.

Your Third Eye Chakra can be found in the center of your forehead. It’s just above the space between your two eyebrows.

Place your cupped hands over your face so that the palms gently rest over the eyes and the finger cover the forehead and Third Eye Chakra.

Your Crown Chakra is in the very center of the top of your head.

Place both hands on top of your head so that the fingertips touch right at the center, covering the Crown Chakra.

Even if you’re not familiar with Reiki, you can perform these simple hand positions to promote the healing of your Chakras.

These are fairly basic, so if you’d like something a little more in depth, then you may want to try my Guided Healing Sessions. This program teaches you how to perform Chakra Healing with Reiki by walking you through a series of real healing sessions that you can use immediately.
